Aerotight all-metal lock nuts spin freely until the thread of the mating fastener reaches the horizontal locking slits on the collar of the nut. The interference expands against the mating threads and locks the assembly together. Able to be reused many times.
Full engagement: Tighten until mating screw is roughly 2 threads beyond the top locking portion of the nut.
