Oetiker 168 Series, LOW PROFILE STEPLESS Clamp, 9mm Band
Low Profile Oetiker Stepless clamps are used in applications where space is restricted, such as boot retention on rotating shafts or on hose connections. Each clamp is designed to clamp a fixed diameter.
**When selecting a suitable clamp, measure the expanded hose diameter after the hose is placed on the barb, not just the outer dimension of the hose before it is placed on the barb.**
Installation Notes
The specific fixed diameter sizing of the Oetiker 168 Series will not compensate for variations in component tolerance or accommodate the effects of thermal expansion. If these are concerns, please consider the Oetiker 167 and 163 Stepless Ear Clamp Series, which will accommodate a range of measurements within each nominal clamp size.
Oetiker Low Profile Pliers are used install Series 168 clamps. The pincer tips of the pliers engage the low retention hooks, reducing the clamp diameter until the interlock position is achieved.
