Grooved Pins PARTIAL Length Reverse Taper - Steel DIN 1474
Press fit pin with three half-length reverse taper grooves. Grooved pins are actually 'fluted', material is displaced in a swaging operation.
Holding power comes from the swaged material compressing into the hole. Reverse grooves gradually increase in size from the end along a section of the shaft, creating a progressively larger diameter.
Used for integrity of screw joints by providing alignment and support while also managing the forces that can act on the joint during operation.
Also known as solid press-fit fasteners, used in pivots, levers, or locking fasteners.
How to Measure: To measure a press fit pin, measure the length of the pin (including the chamfers if present) and the diameter of the smaller end.
Material: Steel
