Class 8 Steel / Coarse Thread
This locking nut relies on a nylon insert to create interference between the mating threads of a bolt or threaded rod. The nylon insert compresses to securely fasten the nut against the bolt, ensuring resistance to vibration and loosening.
Class 8 metric lock nuts provide a medium strength, high tensile fastening solution. Commonly paired with Class 8.8 bolts and screws.
Zinc Plated and Yellow Zinc Plated finishes provide corrosion resistance without sacrificing strength. Black oxide provides minimal corrosion resistance, best for dry environments. Nylon insert color tone varies.
Nylon nuts are of the most popular methods of fastener locking. Also known a Nylon Lock Nut or Prevailing Torque Lock Nut.
