Detail & Specs
Metric Left Hand Reverse Nylon Lock Nut, Stainless Steel / Coarse Thread
This locking nut relies on a nylon insert to create interference between the mating threads of a bolt or threaded rod. The nylon insert compresses to securely fasten the nut against the bolt, ensuring resistance to vibration and loosening. Reverse thread nuts are turned to the left to tighten, unlike regular nuts that turn to the right.
Reverse thread nuts can be used in applications where the continuous rotation of an assembly would cause a standard right-hand threaded fastener to unscrew, while a left-hand fastener remains securely in place.
Stainless nylon lock nuts are commonly used in damp environments for corrosion resistance, popular across a wide range of industries: automotive, agriculture, food processing, clean energy, etc.
Nylon lock nuts will not damage the threads a bolt or screw. Nylon insert color tone varies. Nylon nuts are of the most popular methods of fastener locking. Also known a Nylon Lock Nut or Prevailing Torque Lock Nut.
