Detail & Specs
Self-Locking Counter Nut DIN 7967 / Steel
Tightens against a primary nut to secure it firmly into place. Compressing the counter nut against the primary nut causes the internal teeth / barbs of the counter nut to pinch the threads of the bolt, locking both the counter nut and the primary nut into place. Once in place, the primary nut cannot be accidentally unscrewed.
Advantages
Lighter than standard jam nuts, distorts under load and return (spring) to original shape in threaded area, reusable. This nut should be assembled by hand against the primary nut and then be tightened 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn with a wrench.
Zinc Plated and Yellow Zinc Plated finishes provide corrosion resistance without sacrificing strength.
Also known as Pal Nut, secondary nut, check nut
