Twolok® Free Spinning Lock Nut with Conical Washer
Spin Nuts turn freely during install until the conical washer is compressed against the mating surface as the nut is tightened.
These lock nuts are reusable and offer a one-piece solution versus using a separate lock washer and a nut. Class 8 Steel with a zinc plated finish provide corrosion resistance without sacrificing strength.
How do they work?
The locking tension created by the compressed washer helps prevent the nut from loosening during vibration while distributing the locking force over a larger surface area. Additionally the ribbed pattern on the top surface enhances the high tensile performance and further prevents against loosening due to vibration or pressure.
Commonly used in automotive applications: internal and external trim, powertrain, body work, etc. Also known as SEMS metric hex nut with non-removable captivated / captive washer.
