M2.9 Phillips Oval Head Tapping Screw - A4 Stainless DIN 7983-C

Self-Tapping screws are meant to be installed directly into sheet metal. Tapping Screws require a pilot hole and tap their own threads during install. They cannot be used with machine thread tapped holes or machine thread nuts.

Oval Head Style & How to Measure

Unlike flat head countersunk screws, the convex portion of an oval head screw is meant to sit proud of the work surface after installation. The underside of the head has a 90 degree angle. Also known as raised head recessed phillips drive sheet metal screw.

The length of oval head countersunk screws is measured from the beginning of the undercut of the head (where the raised oval convex meets the 90 degree angle) to the end of the threading.

Material: A4 / SAE Type 316

A4 / 316 Stainless Steel fasteners are "marine grade" corrosion resistant; suitable for salt water applications. A4 fasteners also offer increased resistance to chemicals when compared with A2 stainless fasteners.

Commonly used in wet environments. Popular across a wide range of industries: automotive, agriculture, photographic, medical / surgical, food processing, robotics, architectural detailing, construction, HVAC, healthcare, sanitary, transportation, clean energy, etc.
