Detail & Specs
Slotted Pan Head Machine Screw / Stainless Steel Black Oxide DIN 85
DIN 85 slotted drive pan head machine screws have a lower head height than a phillips drive pan head machine screw (DIN 7985). The head sits almost flat on the install surface. Head style has smooth, domed edges to reduce the chance of catching.
Machine thread screws can be used in a tapped hole or with a locking / non-locking nut.
Material: Stainless Steel
Suitable for damp locations
Corrosion resistant
*Commonly used in damp environments for corrosion resistance, stainless steel fasteners are popular across a wide range of industries: automotive, outdoor furniture, agriculture, architectural components, food processing, clean energy, etc.
Finish: Black Oxide
- Abrasion resistant, does not peel, chip or rub off
- Reduces friction, prevents galling
- Does not change the strength of the stainless steel
- Practically no dimensional change to base fastener
- The spray applied during the coating process wears off over time, revealing an attractive matte black finish
The black oxide coating per MIL-DTL-13924, Class 4 on 300 series corrosion resistant steel meets 96 hours of resistance in a 5% salt spray (fog) test in accordance with ASTM B117. We recommend using stainless steel installation tools to prevent extraneous rust.
