These SEMS screws feature an indented hex head with a recessed Phillips drive and a captive double washer assembly consisting of both a flat washer and a lock washer. The permanently assembled washer combination provides both load distribution and vibration resistance while eliminating the need for separate washer installation during assembly. Length is measured from underneath the head, including the assembled washers.
Double SEMS Design
The captive flat washer helps distribute clamping force evenly across the fastening surface, while the lock washer provides additional resistance against loosening caused by vibration or movement. Both washers remain permanently attached and free spinning on the screw. Double SEMS screws are commonly used in electronics, automotive, energy, industrial machinery, agricultural equipment, appliances, and general manufacturing applications where assembly speed and secure fastening are important.
SEMS screws offer several assembly advantages, including reduced installation time, prevention of loose component loss, simplified inventory management, and compatibility with automated production equipment. The combination of captive flat and lock washers makes these screws particularly effective in applications requiring both reliable clamping force and vibration resistance.
