What is an Extreme Low Profile Head Torx Machine Screw?

These metric machine screws feature an extreme low-profile head with an internal Torx (6-lobe) drive, designed for applications where conventional pan head, socket head, or even low head socket cap screws leave too much hardware protruding above the surface.

With head heights as low as approximately 0.5 mm to 1.2 mm depending on screw diameter, these screws provide an exceptionally compact fastening solution while maintaining a broad bearing surface under the head.

The standard 6-lobe Torx recess provides excellent torque transmission and resistance to cam-out, even with the shallow drive recess required by the extremely thin head design.

The compact head is particularly useful for thin sheet metal and applications where countersinking is not practical, allowing a nearly flush finished surface without requiring a countersunk hole. These are fully threaded metric machine screws designed for use with tapped holes or metric machine thread nuts.

What material is an Extreme Low Profile Head Torx Screw made from?

These screws are manufactured from A2 stainless steel, providing excellent corrosion resistance and dependable mechanical performance for general-purpose fastening applications. A2 stainless steel performs well in humid and mildly corrosive environments while resisting rust and oxidation, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.

The Made in Japan construction provides a high-quality fastening solution for applications where both compact dimensions and reliable performance are important. The stainless steel material also provides a clean, professional appearance without requiring an additional protective coating.

Why choose an Extreme Low Profile Head Torx Machine Screw?

The primary advantage is minimal head height without sacrificing practical fastening performance. These screws are designed to provide a nearly flush profile on thin plates where a conventional countersunk screw cannot be used because there is insufficient material for a countersink.

The small under-head radius and reduced unthreaded area provide a broad bearing surface and allow threading to extend close to the underside of the head, helping maximize usable thread engagement in thin materials.

The Torx drive provides secure bit engagement and efficient torque transfer, while the low-profile design can help reduce overall product size, eliminate protruding fasteners, and improve clearance in compact assemblies.

Where are Extreme Low Profile Head Torx A2 Stainless Screws commonly used?

Extreme low profile head Torx A2 stainless machine screws are well suited for thin sheet metal assemblies, electronics, robotics, automation equipment, drones, compact machinery, automotive components, motorcycles, bicycles, medical equipment, instrumentation, electrical enclosures, consumer products, architectural hardware, and OEM manufacturing.

They are particularly valuable in applications where head clearance, weight, appearance, and compact product design are important. The extremely low head profile makes these screws especially useful for thin panels, covers, brackets, guards, chassis components, and assemblies where a conventional countersunk screw cannot be used.
