Detail & Specs
Metric Free-Spinning Washer Nut / Stainless Steel Black Oxide
Spin Nuts turn freely during install until the conical washer is compressed against the mating surface as the nut is tightened. The locking tension created by the compressed washer helps prevent the nut from loosening during vibration while distributing the locking force over a larger surface area.
Reusable, offer a one-piece solution versus using a separate lock washer and a nut.
Material: Stainless Steel
Suitable for damp locations
Corrosion resistant
Finish: Black Oxide
Attractive matte black finish
Abrasion resistant, does not peel, chip or rub off
Reduces friction, prevents galling
Does not change the strength of the stainless steel
Practically no dimensional change to base fastener
The black oxide coating per MIL-DTL-13924, Class 4 on 300 series corrosion resistant steel will show no signs of corrosion after 96 hours of exposure in a 5% salt spray (fog) test in accordance with ASTM B117.
Stainless nuts are commonly used in damp environments for corrosion resistance, popular across a wide range of industries: automotive, agriculture, food processing, clean energy, etc.
Also known as metric hex nut with non-removable captivated / captive washer.
