Detail & Specs
M6X1.0 Socket Head Cap Screw - DIN 912 Class 12.9
Class 12.9 Extreme Strength / Full Head Height
Socket head bolts are great for limited space installation areas. An allen wrench is used to install these screws, allowing access into tight locations where a traditional external hex drive bolt would not fit.
Finishes
Zinc Flake: Temperature Resistant up to 150C (permits use in engine compartments), no risk of hydrogen embrittlement, paintable, resistant to fuel/coolant/oil. ISO 10683 480hrs ISO 9227 NSS. Examples: Delta Protekt KL 100, Geomet 321 A.
Black oxide: minimal corrosion resistance, best for indoor, dry environments. This finish is not suitable for outdoor applications, and will rust when exposed to moisture.
Partially threaded socket cap bolts have an unthreaded length under the head that is stronger than the threaded portion of the bolt. The unthreaded / threaded length dimensions vary by diameter. Fully threaded socket cap screws are meant to engage the entire length with a tapped hole.
These bolts can be used with many different styles of locking and non-locking nuts, tightly clamping together whatever the cap screw is being used to secure.
Also known as allen cap screw, hex drive screw, socket head bolt, hexagon socket head cap screw. Applications include gearboxes, wind turbines, trains, railway components.
