DIN 966 machine screws are metric fasteners featuring an oval (raised countersunk) head with a Pozidrive (Pozi) recess. The head combines a 90° countersunk underside with a slightly domed top, allowing the screw to seat in a countersunk hole while leaving an attractive rounded profile above the surface. This design provides the flush seating of a countersunk screw with a more decorative finished appearance. Screw length is measured from the beginning of the countersunk undercut, where the raised oval head meets the 90° bearing surface, to the end of the screw.
