DIN 966 machine screws are metric fasteners featuring an oval (raised countersunk) head with a Pozidrive (Pozi) recess. The head incorporates a 90° countersunk underside and a slightly domed top, allowing the screw to sit neatly in a countersunk hole while leaving an attractive raised profile above the surface. This design combines the clean fit of a countersunk fastener with an enhanced finished appearance. Screw length is measured from the beginning of the countersunk undercut, where the raised oval head meets the 90° bearing surface, to the end of the screw.
