Truss Head Screws have an oversized "truss" head style with an undercut bottom and a low height rounded dome top.
The flat bearing surface underneath the head covers a larger diameter than a typical pan head machine screw. This increased surface area reduces the chances of crushing or marring the material the screw is tightened against.
