External Retaining Ring for Shafts - Extra Thick Heavy Duty Steel DIN 471
External retaining rings hold components onto a shaft. These rings need to be expanded to pass over the end of an industrial shaft into an existing groove (axial installation). Use retaining ring pliers as best installation practice to prevent distorting the retaining ring.
Extra thick body design for heavy duty applications.
Material: Spring Steel (DIN 17222)
Steel retaining rings are a less expensive option than stainless steel but will only offer minimal corrosion resistance.
Zinc Flake finishes will provide corrosion resistance.
