Tolerance:
The standard tolerance zones for ISO fittings each have a designated letter and number. Tolerance zones for the hole have capital letters, while tolerance zones for the shaft side of things have lower case letters.
For M1, m6 indicates that this pin has a tolerance of 0.01 from the nominal diameter.
How to Measure:
To measure a press fit pin, measure the length of the pin (including the chamfers if present) and the diameter of the smaller end.
Material: A1 / SAE Type 303
A1 / 303 Stainless pins are commonly used in machining, the automotive industry, as well as for decorative strips, door handles and oil drain valves.
For any application involving marine (salt water), use A4 / 316 Stainless Steel material.
