ISO 4017 (full thread) and ISO 4014 (partial thread) hex bolts are high-strength fasteners with a hexagonal head, manufactured to ISO standards with a standard 6h thread tolerance for compatibility with metric nuts.

Both thread styles serve different engineering needs: ISO 4017 bolts feature full threading for maximum engagement in thin materials or tapped holes, while ISO 4014 bolts have an unthreaded shank section, offering improved shear strength in through-hole applications. 

Material + Finish

Class 12.9 alloy steel offers extremely high tensile strength—minimum 1220 MPa—making them suitable for demanding applications involving high loads, torque, or impact, such as in heavy machinery, structural assemblies, and precision-engineered equipment.

These bolts are available in 2 finishes to suit different environmental and performance requirements.

Plain black bolts provide basic protection and are ideal for indoor or non-corrosive environments.

Zinc flake coating provides superior corrosion protection, comparable to hot-dip galvanizing without the added thread thickness, making them ideal for applications with tight fitment requirements.

Unlike hot-dip galvanizing, zinc flake coatings do not require oversized tapping allowances, while still delivering excellent performance in automotive, industrial, and outdoor environments.

Commonly used in structural assemblies, machinery, vehicle frames, industrial enclosures, and mechanical joints. These bolts are compatible with ISO 4032 hex nuts or equivalent metric hardware with matching thread class and finish compatibility.
