M2.5 Grooved Pins PARTIAL Length Taper - 303 Stainless DIN 1472
Press fit pin with three half-length tapered grooves.
Grooved pins are actually 'fluted', material is displaced in a swaging operation. Their holding power comes from the swaged material compressing into the hole. Used in pivots, levers, or locking fasteners. The grooved end functions as the locking portion, which allows the smooth end to be used as a hinge, pivot, or stop.
Ideal for applications requiring superior locking and ease of assembly. Also works in dowel applications.
Used in the design and manufacturing of highly precise and intricate machinery or components, as an axial pin.
How to Measure:
To measure a press fit pin, measure the length of the pin (including the chamfers if present) and the diameter of the smaller end.
Material: A1 / SAE Type 303
A1 / 303 Stainless pins are commonly used in machining, the automotive industry, as well as for decorative strips, door handles and oil drain valves.
For any application involving marine (salt water), use A4 / 316 Stainless Steel material.
