Grooved Pins FULL Length Parallel - Steel DIN 1473
Press fit pin with three full-length parallel grooves. Grooved pins are actually 'fluted', material is displaced in a swaging operation. Holding power comes from the swaged material compressing into the hole.
Full-length grooves securely retain the pin, preventing it from spinning. Ideal for applications where severe vibration/shock loading is present. Also known as solid press-fit fasteners, used in pivots, levers, or locking fasteners.
How to Measure: To measure a press fit pin, measure the length of the pin (including the chamfers if present) and the diameter of the smaller end.
