Detail & Specs
M4.5 A4 Stainless Torx Oval Head, Wood Thread + Milling Ribs, Cutting Tip
Timber screws RSD CSK head with cutting point and milling ribs
How to Measure Length:
Always measured from the beginning of the undercut of the head (where the raised oval convex meets the 90 degree angle) to the end of the self drilling tip.
Which materials can this screw be used with?
- Wood / Timber, Engineered Wood, Composite Wood, Softwood
What are the benefits of choosing this screw?
- Eliminates need to Pre-Drilling for most softwood applications.
- Cutting tip prevents cracks and splintering cracks in most softwood applications.
- Groove (or flute) on Cutting tip help remove material as the screw is installed.
- Underside of head is reinforced with ribs for cleanest countersunk install.
- Additional Milling Ribs reduce screwing torque by widening the drill hole.
Why choose a Six-Lobe Torx Drive?
Torx drive screws provide higher torque transfer because the driving forces are transferred to each surface of the six lobes (wobble-free), instead of the four edges of the four edges on a phillips drive. Less overall force is needed to install these screws.
The slim design of an torx socket wrench allows access to tight locations.
Material: A4 / SAE Type 316
A4 / 316 Stainless Steel fasteners are "marine grade" corrosion resistant; suitable for salt water applications. A4 fasteners also offer increased resistance to chemicals when compared with A2 stainless fasteners.
Commonly used in wet environments. Popular across a wide range of industries: automotive, agriculture, photographic, medical / surgical, food processing, robotics, architectural detailing, construction, HVAC, healthcare, sanitary, transportation, clean energy, etc.
