M5X0.8 Small Head Phillips Oval - Stainless JIS B-1111

Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS B-1111) Phillips oval head machine screw, features a smaller diameter than its DIN or ANSI counterparts.

Unlike flat head countersunk screws, the convex portion of an oval head screw is designed to sit slightly proud of the surface once installed. These machine thread screws can be used in a tapped hole or with a locking/non-locking nut.

The screw has a recessed JIS-style Phillips drive—slightly different from standard Phillips, offering improved torque control and reduced cam-out when used with the correct driver. The underside of the head features a 90-degree angle typical of oval head profiles.

Automotive Restoration

Commonly found in classic Japanese vehicles, including motorcycles, particularly in areas where aesthetic finish, compact design, or precise fitment is critical. The smaller diameter head sits neatly in recessed or contoured plastic, vinyl, or metal surfaces, often visible to the driver/passenger.

Legacy auto applications include door cards, dashboard fascia, kick panels, glove box assemblies, mounting screws for gauge bezels, speedometers, and tachometers, license light lens covers or trunk trim pieces, side cover panels, electrical box covers, headlamp assemblies.

Note: JIS Phillips screws are dimensionally and functionally different from standard Phillips screws. Always verify compatibility for automotive or restoration applications.

Measurement

Length is measured from the start of the undercut (where the raised oval begins) to the end of the threaded shaft.
