M6 Grooved Pins PARTIAL Length Reverse Taper - Steel DIN 1474
Press fit pin with three half-length reverse taper grooves.
Grooved pins are actually 'fluted', material is displaced in a swaging operation. Their holding power comes from the swaged material compressing into the hole. Also known as solid press-fit fasteners, used in pivots, levers, or locking fasteners.
Reverse grooves gradually increase in size from the end along a section of the shaft, creating a progressively larger diameter.
Used for integrity of screw joints by providing alignment and support while also managing the forces that can act on the joint during operation.
How to Measure:
To measure a press fit pin, measure the length of the pin (including the chamfers if present) and the diameter of the smaller end.
