DIN 74361 Form "AM" is a hex nut with an integral spherical collar designed for self-aligning bolted joints. The convex spherical seating surface allows the nut to compensate for angular misalignment when tightened, ensuring even load distribution and reducing bending stress on the bolt.
For proper function, Form AM nuts are intended to be used in combination with complementary DIN 74361 series components. DIN 74361 Form C spherical spring washer are the most common mated component, providing the matching concave seat.
