Metric Pipe Taper Thread Pattern
Taper plugs seal via metal-to-metal wedging of male and female taper thread patterns. Headless steel plug style, no sealing washer required. Consider using a thread sealant on the plug prior to installation to achieve adequate seal and to reduce the possibility of leakage.
Specification
DIN 909 external hex drive tapered screw plugs with a hexagon socket drive at one end and a slightly tapered pipe thread along the full length of the plug. The threaded section of the plug is slightly conical and when tightened to the appropriate torque, the deformation of the threads creates the seal.
Designed to create a tighter seal for masking threaded holes and is commonly used to seal holes in machinery, fittings or pipes to prevent leakage of air, steam, gases, water, oil and fluids. This plug is also great for blocking off intake manifold water ports, water pump ports, water temp and oil sender holes, engine block holes, etc.
Finish
Zinc Plated Plated finishes provide corrosion resistance.
