M4X0.7 Nylon Point Allen Set Screw - Steel 14H Black
Nylon point set screws have a flat half dog point that protrudes from the end of the thread. The nylon point absorbs vibrations and these are most commonly used to join a coupling, collar, or gear to a shaft.
The nylon point is rigid yet flexible, which allows the set screw to be easily removed without causing damage.
Finish: Black Oxide
A black oxide finish provides minimal corrosion resistance, best for indoor, dry environments. This finish is not suitable for outdoor applications, and will rust when exposed to moisture.
Also known as allen drive type half dog set screw, grub screw, blind screw, fully threaded internal drive headless allen fastener.
For use in compression only, not for tensile or shear loads.
Set screws can be used as an easy-to-install alternative to full thread studs because they have an internal allen socket drive at one end.
