Detail & Specs
Phillips JIS Truss Head Machine Screw / 4.8 Steel
These screws have an oversized "truss" head style with an undercut bottom, low height rounded dome top and recessed phillips drive.
The flat bearing surface underneath the head covers a larger diameter than a typical pan head machine screw. This increased surface area reduces the chances of crushing or marring the material the screw is tightened against.
A truss-style head is the preferred design in applications where minimal clearance exists above the head. Suitable for license plates.
Machine thread screws can be used in a tapped hole or with a locking / non-locking nut. Length is measured from underneath the head.
Zinc plated finish provides corrosion resistance
Specification
JIS B-1111 / Japanese Industrial Standard
Also known as metric truss machine screw or extra-wide mushroom head screw.
